The Red Giants will face reigning champions, Buriram United F.C. today to kick off the 2025/26 Shopee Cup™ campaign at Buriram Stadium, 8pm Malaysia time.

Playing for the first time in the Shopee Cup, Selangor FC have been drawn in Group A alongside big names such as Buriram United F.C., Tampines Rovers FC, Cebu FC, Công An Hà N?i FC and BG Pathum United F.C.

According to Selangor FC Head Coach, Katsuhito Kinoshi, this match will be a valuable experience and will ensure the team gives their best for the fans, the club and Malaysia.

"First of all, we are honored and proud to compete in this tournament and also to be given the opportunity and space to face a strong opponent like Buriram United F.C. This is the result of last year's achievements, and to reach this level is not easy. We will make the most of this opportunity, while bettering ourselves at the same time and making it a valuable experience for the team," Kinoshi explained.

"I am confident that Selangor FC have great supporters behind the team. We will fight for them and the club and give 100% on the field no matter what the situation may be. Let's fight together and enjoy the match." he added.

As for the players availability, 24 players have been listed for the match against Buriram United F.C., all fully prepared to give their best on the field for the Red Giants.
